Oksana Pikush

Oksana Pikush (lyrical soprano) was born and raised in Petrykivka (Dnipropetrovsk region) -- the centre of Ukrainian folk art. She started singing at an early age, part of her family’s tradition.

After graduating in Ukraine (specializing in the violin), she moved to Canada and took up classical vocal training at McGill University. Oksana performs as a soloist and enjoys collaborating with other artists and groups, such as Sheraton Cadwell Orchestras, Drama Theatre “Zahrava”, the Ukrainian Dramatic Theatre of Maria Zankovetska (while on tour in Canada), and, most recently with the Toronto- based choir Vesnivka. Oksana’s repertoire includes folk, popular, and classical pieces in Ukrainian, English, Italian and French. In addition to her musical talents, Oksana continues her parents’ legacy of petrykivka style painting. To learn more, visit www.pikush.com or find her on FaceBook.
