Born and raised in Osaka, Japan, Liko Yamane began her piano study at the age of 3. Liko performed as a soloist with symphony orchestras several times at her teenage years while studying with Reiko Matsuzaki, an internationally acclaimed pianist. Liko moved to Ottawa in 2000, and she has been busy collaborating with hundreds of strings and wind instrument students for their exams, recitals and competitions in Ottawa and many other cities in Ontario and Quebec. In addition to the collaborations with the students, Liko has had opportunities to perform with James Ehnes, Yosuke Kawasaki and several other internationally recognized musicians.
